Terms & Conditions

By the student attending the first tutoring session, I understand and agree to the following terms and conditions:

Payment

1.1 Payment of fees for each one hour tutoring session will be due
in advance, either in termly or monthly blocks as pre-arranged.
Payment must be made 24 hours before the first scheduled session.
Payment is via BACS.

Cancellation

2.1 Cancellation by Student: If the Student wishes to cancel a scheduled
tutoring session, they must provide at least 24 hours’ notice before the
scheduled start time. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance
may result in a forfeiture of the session fee.
2.2 Rescheduling: The Student may request to reschedule a session,
subject to the availability of the Tutor. Rescheduling requests must be
made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid forfeiture of the session fee.
2.3 Cancellation by Tutor: In the event that the Tutor needs to cancel a
session, every effort will be made to provide the Student with reasonable
notice, and the session rearranged. If necessary, the session fee will be
refunded in full. We reserve the right to cancel sessions due to
unforeseen circumstances or emergencies.

Lesson Materials and Intellectual Property

3.1 Lesson Materials: The Tutor may provide the Student with learning
materials, including but not limited to worksheets, notes, and
assignments. These materials are for personal use only and may not be
distributed or used for any commercial purposes without the Tutor’s
written consent.
3.2 Intellectual Property: All intellectual property rights related to the
Services, including lesson materials and any custom-created content,
remain the exclusive property of the Tutor.

Conduct

4. The Tutor and the Student agree to treat each other with respect and
professionalism during all tutoring sessions. Any form of disrespectful
behaviour, harassment, or inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated.

Liability

5.1 Limitation of Liability: The Tutor shall not be liable for any direct,
indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the
provision or use of the Services.
5.2 No Guarantees: While the Tutor will make every effort to help the
Student improve their academic performance, we do not guarantee any
specific outcomes, grades, or test results.

Termination

6. The Tutor reserves the right to terminate the provision of Services to the
Student at any time for any reason, including but not limited to breaches
of these Terms and Conditions.

Changes to Terms and Conditions

7. The Tutor reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any
time. Updated Terms and Conditions are available via email
communication.

Safeguarding and Child Protection

8. We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all our
students. As a responsible online tutoring service, we adhere to the
relevant safeguarding legislation and guidelines in the UK
8.1 Student Safety: It is the responsibility of the Student’s parents or
carers to ensure that the Student is attending online tutoring sessions in
an appropriate and safe location. Parents or guardians may choose to be
in close proximity to the Student during the sessions.
8.2 Protection of Minors: We are dedicated to providing a secure learning
environment. If there are concerns about a child’s safety or well-being, we
will follow the appropriate legal procedures and report any necessary
information to the relevant authorities.
8.3 Data Protection: We comply with the Data Protection Act 2018 and
GDPR regulations regarding the collection, storage, and processing of
personal data. Your privacy and the confidentiality of your information
are of utmost importance to us.
8.4 Online Safety: We prioritize online safety and strive to create a
positive and respectful online learning atmosphere. We are committed to
safeguarding students from online risks such as cyberbullying and
inappropriate content.
8.5 Prevent Duty: We are vigilant about signs of radicalization and
extremism, as outlined in the Prevent Duty under the Counter-Terrorism
and Security Act 2015. Our commitment includes recognizing and taking
appropriate action if we suspect any individual is at risk.
8.6 DBS Checks: All tutors undergo full Disclosure and Barring Service
(DBS) checks to verify their suitability for working with children and
vulnerable adults.
